Business Rules Engines (BREs) have been getting more attention over the last few years. According to the Gartner Hype Cycle graphic, BREs have exited the Trough of Disillusionment and will reach the Plateau of Productivity in less than 2 years.1 Gartner further highlights BREs as one of five new and emerging technologies that show potential for reducing expenses, increasing profitability, improving process efficiency, and generating new revenue in the insurance industry.
