As process management begins to blur the traditional boundaries of the organization, a more transparent and accurate decision making process is necessary.

This course builds a comprehensive understanding of how to best address this challenge with a focus on developing a firm understanding of the emerging roles of process owner, process council, and the process office.  It instructs the student how to:

  • Define the function of process governance in his/her organization
  • Differentiate the various roles involved with supporting and making decisions
  • Develop several approaches for overcoming resistance to change
  • Construct a decision making process

It will describe the mission and charter for a Center of Excellence (CoE) and present advice for successfully establishing a CoE.  Emphasis on establishing credibility and delivering tangible value shapes the basis for the session.  It instructs the student how to:

  • Build a Mission and a Charter for the process office
  • Determine how best to fund the office and how to measure its successes
