Establishing Business Process Governance & Centers of Excellence - Live Online - begins October 22, 2012

As process management begins to blur the traditional boundaries of the organization, a more transparent and accurate decision making process is necessary.

This course builds a comprehensive understanding of how to best address this challenge with a focus on developing a firm understanding of the emerging roles of process owner, process council, and the process office.  It instructs the student how to:

  • Define the function of process governance in his/her organization
  • Differentiate the various roles involved with supporting and making decisions
  • Develop several approaches for overcoming resistance to change
  • Construct a decision making process

This course develops the essential elements that are needed to successfully justify, launch and to then evolve the process office in an organization. It will describe the mission and charter for a Center of Excellence (CoE) and present advice for successfully establishing a CoE.  Emphasis on establishing credibility and delivering tangible value shapes the basis for the session.  It instructs the student how to:

  • Build a Mission and a Charter for the process office
  • Determine how best to fund the office and how to measure its successes
  • Identify the specific services that will deliver the greatest value to his/her organization
  • Establish where the office fits within his/her organization and who should manage it
