Round Table Details

Are you engaged in or investigating an enterprise wide business process analysis initiative? Need to convince your Visio process modelers to migrate to a more structured environment?

The success of your business process analysis and enterprise architecture depends on the quality of your models. But if your users are modeling without structure and controls, then their models are probably unrelated, non-standard and disparate. Many organizations use Microsoft Visio®, a convenient solution for part-time business modelers. However, integration with the analysis, productivity, and quality capabilities of a full BPA solution are still needed. Most part-time process modelers don’t have the time or interest in learning a new product, so they resist this important change.

Telelogic now offers a solution that combines the simplicity of Visio with the power of Telelogic System Architect®, the industry leading Business Process Modeling product.

This solution allows users to continue modeling in Visio, but includes templates that add Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) stencils and error checking to ensure all Visio process can be commonly drawn, communicated and stored. Visio process models and objects are also stored in a common repository, leveraging information management and reuse.

With this solution, business architects and analysts can leverage the extended Visio modeling community quickly and easily, while the core process team utilizes these models in System Architect for process analysis, simulation, and execution and monitoring.

Join the Round Table to learn how you can:
• Deploy BPM projects quickly and easily by providing a modeling interface for all users
• Obtain value from your Visio process modeling community without requiring them to switch to another product
• Employ standard drawing practices and common data collaboration
• Combine the simplicity of Visio with the power of Telelogic’s full Business Analysis Suite

Martin Owen, Vice President, Product Management, Business Process and Enterprise Architecture, Telelogic

With over 15+ years of experience, Martin has played a key role in elevating Telelogic (formerly Popkin) to the leader position in the Enterprise Architecture tools and services market.   Martin is also a keen advocate of business process management and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) disciplines and in particular, their relationship to Enterprise Architecture.

Martin has a vast experience with many methodologies and industry standard practices.  Over the years, Martin has built up a unique blend of business management, development and project management skills enabling Telelogic to set the market direction for modeling tools. Martin was a co-author of the Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) with the BPMI.org (now part of the OMG) and has developed frameworks and tools that allow Telelogic’s customers to model, design, and implement their Enterprise Architectures and Business Processes.  Martin has been involved with DODAF, MoDAF, TOGAF, BPMN and UML.
