Ken Vollmer of Forrester will provide his perspective on the future of BPM. In this session, Ken will address the need to combine a structured, systematic methodology for BPM implementation with a Service Oriented Architecture. He will then point out best practices regarding the implementation of this systematic approach to BPM and provide his impressions regarding the evolution of the BPM market as vendors invest in the development of tools that support this methodology and architecture.

This will be followed by a short presentation from Ross Altman, CTO of SeeBeyond Technology Corp., in which Ross will point out the need for a comprehensive, fully-integrated toolset to support cost effective BPM implementation.

Ken Vollmer Ken is a principal analyst in Forrester’s Application Development & Infrastructure research group, covering trends, issues, and strategies related to all forms of integration, including business process management (BPM), enterprise application integration (EAI), B2B integration (B2Bi), and electronic data interchange (EDI). Ken has assisted hundreds of clients in North America and Europe with their integration projects, drawing upon his knowledge of emerging trends and many years of practical experience in implementing a wide range of business solutions.

Ross AltmanRoss Altman joined SeeBeyond in September 2003 as Chief Technology Officer, and is focused on the direction, development and communication of the Company’s technology vision and strategy.

As an acknowledged expert in the implementation of integration technology, Altman has deep expertise in the development of strategic approaches to transforming dozens of legacy and packaged applications into a coherent network of interactive systems. He also has published groundbreaking research regarding the ROI that can be realized from a commitment to a systematic application integration architecture, the adoption of a mature, repeatable development methodology and the use of best of breed development tools and networks.

Prior to joining SeeBeyond, Ross was Director of Integrated Technologies at EDS in Plano, Texas, where he developed programs in application integration architecture, methodology and governance. He also developed an EAI Audit program offering, the first of its kind in the industry.

Prior to EDS, Altman was a vice president and research director with Gartner, where his research focused on the use of integration middleware to support composite applications, straight-through processing and business process management. He was also the first to publish quantitative research regarding the return on investment that can be realized by using integration middleware to support development projects.

Altman holds Bachelor and Masters degrees from Rutgers University. In addition, he has authored over 150 articles on application development and integration, and has delivered more than 70 presentations on these subjects at industry conferences and seminars.
