Business Process Management (BPM) is defined as the disciplined methodology used to manage process improvement and includes the use of metrics, key performance indicators (KPI), collaboration, and change management. Supporting BPM is a Business Process Management System (BPMS), which is a software infrastructure product that provides the capability to design, deploy, execute, analyze, and optimize end-to-end business processes. It coordinates the flow of tasks, access to resources and the exchange of information among employees, customers, and partners while capturing information about the execution of the process to enable continuous process improvement.
