We review a 10 year long case study to understand the business case for a "Decision Service", and then we demonstrate the architecture, infrastructure, methodology for implementing the service, combining SOA, BPM and Decisions – managed by Business Rules – into a Service that can actually be deployed. Scenarios for the deployment of the example are discussed, and other examples – including suggestions elicited from the audience – are considered, along with the implications for ROI.
