    Case Study: From Decision Table to Rules Engine

    Many legacy workflow applications use decision tables to control business process flow. A more desirable approach is to utilize a rules engine that provides both flexibility and scalability. A commercial rule engine requires significant investment in resources and time. A database rule engine design that overcomes the limitation of decision table will be presented. The design has been successfully implemented in a production environment.
