Case Study: Flexible Analytics and Intelligent Monitoring In the ETL Process

Featuring: Jay Yusko, Ph.D., Consulting Engineer, Information Resources, Inc.

Rules engines are a key to providing analysis and monitoring capabilities within the highly automated business processes of today's organizations. Are there patterns, lessons and capabilities we can garner from the innovative application of rules engines for Business Activity Monitoring (BAM)? The presenter will discuss the complex decisions within their Extract Transformation Load (ETL) process and how IRI addressed these with an embedded rules engine. This provided IRI with the opportunity to leverage a rules engine to actively monitor data quality and actually fix data problems in the ETL Process.
