THE ROLE OF A BUSINESS ARCHITECT: A formula for strategic alignment and tactical execution

Featuring: Craig Jones, Manager, STS Processes and Governance, Sprint Nextel

This presentation will highlight, how in response to corporate synergies, execution management and dysfunction, IT launched a project to implement a consolidated IT platform for Finance, HR and SCM activities, without a BA structure. It will summarize the pitfalls of the plan, and then detail the structure that was put in place and the ensuing success factors associated with the successful launch of the ERP system. It will also touch on how entrenched cultures and management gridlock stymied efforts to synchronize common terminology, processes, data utilization and automation strategies. The presentation will be structured to highlight the pitfalls, assess the fallout, detail the plan to “right the ship” and deliver on a methodology for adoption and continuous improvement of processes in the BA life cycle.
