Offering Description:
Based on client’s business and technical requirements (possibly part
of draft RFP) for a BPM Suite procurement, recommend a short list of 3-4
products for final selection.
Offering Outline:
- Based on requirements document, Consultant creates set of high-level
product characteristics for product selection. Client review/revise
as necessary.
- Client rank orders specific requirements in requirements document, editing
the list if necessary.
- Consultant evaluates up to 8 BPMS offerings and scores them using the
general characteristics and ranked specific requirements. Fixed
price assumes the 8 are among those evaluated in the BPMS Report series,
which include: BEA, IBM, Lombardi, Savvion, Pegasystems, Global 360, EMC
Documentum, Cordys, Vitria, and Adobe. Beginning Q1 2007 list will
also include Appian, Tibco, webMethods, perhaps others. Other products
can be added to the list, but may require additional charge (TBD).
- Consultant provides recommended short list of 3-4 products, with detailed
justification. Deliverable is a PowerPoint presentation plus Excel
scoresheet.
This engagement can be performed entirely remotely, i.e. via teleconference/Webex
and email, or optionally include face-to-face kickoff and presentation of
recommendations.
Offering Objectives:
Rather than issue RFP to and evaluate responses from a long list of BPMS
providers, it is more effective to develop a short list of products that
generally match the requirements, prior to dealing directly with the vendors
in formal RFP, proof of concept, due diligence, etc. Using the 2006/2007
BPMS Report series, which contains a good knowledge of the features and
comparative strengths of most leading BPMS offerings, the consultant can
provide the short list recommendation cost-effectively.
